OUR MONTHLY MEETINGS AT LEIGH WESLEY METHODIST CHURCH HAVE RESTARTED
PLEASE CHECK WITH GROUP LEADERS THE POSITION REGARDING INDIVIDUAL GROUP MEETINGS
MEETINGS COMMENCE AT 2.30. DOORS WILL OPEN AT 2.00.
Leigh Wesley Methodist Church
Leigh-on-Sea SS9 1SJ.
PLEASE NOTE THAT DOORS ARE NOT OPEN UNTIL 2.00PM. AS SPACE FOR QUEUING IS LIMITED, PLEASE DO NOT ARRIVE TOO EARLY (especially when cold or wet!)
Meetings will usually start with notices and items of group news, followed by a guest speaker. Refreshments are available afterwards so members can chat to friends or maybe the speaker.
There is no charge for attendance and not only that but you can get a cuppa at the end all free of charge; so pretty good value.
Please note that we are not permitted to use the car park attached to the church; however, there are small pay-and-display car parks in Elm Road (at rear of Leigh Community Centre/Police Station) and off North Street (east of the Wesley Methodist Church) but these do fill quickly. Parking on nearby streets is limited so please check local parking restrictions.
If you have any suggestions for speakers, please contact our Speaker Secretary by clicking the link.
It is helpful to know what you think of our Speakers, please give feedback here.
The Makers Boutique by Amanda Sutherland
December 16 @ 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm
Our fourth attempt to get Amanda to speak. She will talk about her CREATIVE JOURNEY which she briefly describes as follows –
An exciting Career journey through Film, Television and Theatrical costume design with an insight into running a successful accessories business.
Amanda talks about her career journey working as an assistant costumier, a bridal wear consultant, a wardrobe assistant for West End shows and as a freelance designer.
She tells us her “talks are informative and amusing as well as having inspired 1000s of audience members with often a standing ovation. The part one talk which has received numerous awards and has featured in many newsletters. A stunning display of headdresses and accessories complete this award winning presentation.”
At the end of the presentation her gift shop will be open for members to browse the latest collections of Amanda’s own label, with the opportunity to buy a range of fabric jewellery and eco accessories at a members group discount.
In addition, we invite members to wear their glittery Christmas outfits – and hopefully a few rather outlandish outfits will appear too. Mince pies and cakes will be available for members to enjoy after the talk.
