Hanningfield walk:

Great Intriguing walk complied by Jo. We walked in three separate groups of 4 or 5 and had a lovely lunch still obeying the rules and able to enjoy one another’s company.

The group has restarted with a socially distanced walk:

25 September 2019

The Vigorous Walking group enjoyed a pleasant stroll around Hanningfield Reservoir nature reserve on 25 September. We took in a spot of birdwatching in the bird hides to dodge raindrops,  appreciated autumn colours and fruits in the ancient woods, while scrumping blackberries and finding these photogenic heifers. And the sun came out eventually.
We also decided to rename our group Country Walks next year as this more accurately reflects what we do!
Country Life at its Best

29 May 2019

The Vigorous Walking group set off on their first walk today around Rochford and the Roach Valley . We started off with very clear guidance from our leader Jo Phillips and all walked at a good pace around this circular walk. None of us had walked here before, it was peaceful walking alongside the River Roach and footpaths adjacent to fields of wheat and wild flowers that thrilled us all . After walking for an hour and a half we stopped for a drink at the Royal Oak and then went on our way for the remainder of our walk in the dry . When the walk ended it poured with rain!

Thanks to Jo for a lovely day.
