Linda Butler has taken on the role of Almoner for our U3A. If you hear of any member that is bereaved, sick or in hospital, then please contact Linda and she will arrange to offer support.

The Heritage Centre stands in the Centre of the Old Town in the old Smithy. Along with many other buildings in the Old Town the Smithy was purchased by the Borough Council many years ago with a view to a development which never took place and it was allowed to fall into disrepair until the Leigh Society formed and decided to rescue the building.

The Leigh Society was founded in 1972 and after restoring the Smithy in the Old Town to form the Heritage Centre where they have been open ever since as a museum of Leigh.
Can't stop learning and exploring other things then try here where there are talks on a variety of topics, such as Technology, Global Issues, Entertainment, Design, Science, Business, the Arts and many more.:
